Garnet Arabia Company, GMA Garnet Group’s local subsidiary in Saudi Arabia, presented at the 2024 edition of the Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress. A key highlight of the event was the promotion of GMA ToughBlast™, a next-generation garnet abrasive blend, engineered to power through heavy industrial coatings. The unique mix of coarse and fine garnet optimizes blasting performance in industrial maintenance for Oil & Gas (onshore and offshore), tank exteriors and liners, as well as shipyard repair and maintenance.

Formulated to ‘cut & clean’ faster than traditional abrasives, GMA ToughBlast™ offers a cost-efficient solution by helping keep projects on schedule at reduced costs. It also serves as a high-performing and safer alternative to copper slag, which contaminates the environment and creates disposal challenges. With its advanced formulation, GMA ToughBlast™ delivers superior results in terms of safety, cost efficiency, and surface quality, compared to traditional slag abrasives.

During the event, we introduced visitors to the Circular Economy and Safe & Sustainable Blasting Practices concepts, showcasing how GMA is driving sustainability in blasting operations. Many of the industry’s major copper slag users expressed keen interest in GMA's sustainable approach, which includes recycling used garnet abrasives. This innovative solution helps contractors reduce environmental impact and alleviate growing concerns over waste disposal, positioning GMA as a key partner in their transition to greener practices.

Soni John, General Manager of GMA Middle East, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We were thrilled to participate in the Saudi Maritime & Logistics Congress this year. Our commitment to innovation and local market-driven solutions aligned perfectly with the congress's focus on shaping the maritime industry's future. We look forward to engaging with industry peers, partners, and stakeholders to foster collaborations and exchange ideas.”

The exhibition took place from September 18 to 19, 2024, at the Dhahran Expo in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. It was a pivotal platform for maritime industry leaders to converge and explore the latest advancements, solutions, and best practices.

Attendees had an immersive experience at GMA Middle East’s booth, where they discovered the transformative power of products that are redefining industry norms. Furthermore, the congress provided a unique opportunity for professionals to engage in insightful discussions, network with industry thought leaders, and gain valuable insights into the future of maritime practices.
