Global Events in the First Half of 2024

Hempel A/S Corrosion Seminar
At the Hempel A/S Corrosion Seminar in Bangkok, Thailand, the team emphasized the importance of proper surface preparation and the use of premium abrasives to prevent early corrosion and coating failures. “Nicole and I shared how the right surface preparation can avoid early corrosion and premature coating failures, as well as how a premium abrasive can increase HSEQ and reduce overall project costs,” said Kenneth Khoo, South East Asia Business Development Manager.
BlastOne International Tech Day
In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the APAC team joined forces with BlastOne International for a tech day, featuring live demonstrations and technical presentations aimed at enhancing productivity with GMA Garnet™ and BlastOne equipment. “Kenneth Khoo and I were eager to learn how our customers’ utilization of various products within the GMA Garnet™ range enhances overall costs, project timelines, and safety," stated Chris Manger, Asia Pacific Sales Manager. The BlastOne team demonstrated the benefits of using our latest GMA Garnet™ products for abrasive blasting, highlighting their suitability for robotic and low-noise technologies.

5th Asset Integrity Management Conference in Qatar
GMA Middle East exhibited at the 5th Asset Integrity Management Conference in Qatar, engaging in in-depth discussions on the critical issues of Asset Integrity Management. The conference highlighted the importance of operational safety and cost-effective maintenance in Qatar's Oil & Gas industry. Representatives from GMA Middle East interacted with corrosion engineers, pipeline maintenance professionals, asset integrity experts, and health & safety professionals from the region. The team was pleased to be joined by their local distributor, National Industrial Gas Plants, which enhanced their presence at the event.

MegaRust Conference
The GMA Americas team exhibited at MegaRust 2024, held at the Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego, California, from May 21 to 23. MegaRust is an annual event that focuses on tackling Navy corrosion issues. Corrosion impacts naval systems' readiness and overall cost, so this conference provides updates on programs, policies, standards, and Fleet experience. It also promotes discussion and sharing of technologies and strategies for controlling corrosion. The event is an impartial forum for government, military, industry, and commercial organizations to connect and share insights on coatings and corrosion control products, processes, and solutions.
The show included panel discussions on abrasive testing, the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) remarks, and some live demos. Before the show, our team visited the NASSCO Shipyard, a valued customer. It was an excellent opportunity to see our garnet's role in the shipbuilding industry.
