GMA Garnet Group Sustainability Report 2024

Turning strategy into action across our global operations.

Our 2024 Sustainability Report marks the second year of formal reporting for GMA — and a clear shift from establishing our ESG foundations to embedding them into the way we work, plan, and grow.

This year’s report outlines how we are turning long-term goals into practical progress. From land rehabilitation and waste recovery to workforce wellbeing and safety, the actions captured in this report reflect the collective efforts of our teams across regions and functions.

It also marks our first full year as part of the Jebsen & Jessen Group — strengthening our ability to grow responsibly and aligning us with a broader network of businesses committed to sustainable performance.

2024 Sustainability Report

Key Highlights of the 2024 Sustainability Report:

  • Responsible Resource Management
Progressed mine rehabilitation activities in Australia and the U.S, including seed collection and propagation in collaboration with Traditional Owners and ecological agencies.
  • Enhanced Environmental Monitoring
Improved data systems for energy, water, and waste across key sites to support more consistent tracking, reporting, and reduction efforts.
  • Waste Recovery and Circularity
Advanced garnet recycling systems in several regions and continued developing local reuse and reprocessing opportunities to reduce landfill volumes.
  • Health, Safety and Wellbeing
Launched a new internal learning platform in Australia and expanded ISO 45001 health and safety certification across U.S. operations.
  • Stronger ESG Governance
Established frameworks and processes to embed sustainability into operational planning, risk management, and business performance systems.
  • Social Responsibility and Partnerships
Strengthened community and stakeholder engagement through collaborative environmental initiatives and workplace inclusion programs.
  • Jebsen & Jessen Integration
Aligned with Group-wide sustainability goals and participated in shared learning initiatives as part of our first full year within the Jebsen & Jessen Group.

As we look ahead, we remain focused on building the internal systems and shared accountability needed to make sustainability core to how we operate — globally and locally.

“I am pleased to present GMA’s 2024 Sustainability Report — our second report and a continued step forward in our journey to operate responsibly, transparently, and with long-term impact in mind. In a global environment that has seen some companies, and indeed whole countries, pull back from sustainability commitments in recent times, at GMA we believe now is not the time to be withdrawing. Rather, it is our view that now is the time to further turn our sustainability strategies and goals into tangible action, for the betterment of our business and all our stakeholders. In 2024 we continued this pursuit with resolve.”
