GMA Garnet Group Sustainability Report 2025

Continuing to Strengthen Sustainability Across Our Business

GMA Garnet Group is pleased to release its Sustainability Report 2025, outlining the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and progress throughout the reporting year.

The report reflects continued development of GMA’s sustainability approach, including the completion of the company’s first formal materiality assessment, ongoing improvements to governance and reporting processes, and greater alignment with sustainability initiatives across the Jebsen & Jessen Group.

Operating across Australia, the Americas, and the Middle East, GMA remains focused on advancing sustainability into operational decision-making while maintaining a practical approach aligned with the realities of mining, processing, logistics, and manufacturing operations.

Key Highlights of the 2025 Sustainability Report:

  • Completion of GMA’s first formal materiality assessment to better understand and prioritize ESG topics relevant to the business and its stakeholders. 
  • Continued strengthening of sustainability governance, reporting systems, and accountability across global operations. 
  • Renewable energy contributed 48% of GMA's energy mix. 
  • Approximately 1.79 million tonnes of material recovered or reused across global operations. 
  • Continued investment in safety, employee wellbeing, workforce development, and leadership capability. 
  • Ongoing rehabilitation, water stewardship, air quality management, and waste reduction initiatives across operational sites. 
  • Launch of GMA’s inaugural Global Sustainability Awards, recognizing customers and partners advancing garnet recovery, reuse, and waste reduction.

Building Stronger Foundations

Throughout 2025, GMA focused on strengthening the systems and processes that support long-term sustainability performance. This included improvements to ESG data collection, governance frameworks, materiality assessment processes, and internal reporting capabilities.

The report highlights how sustainability continues to be integrated into operational activities across the business, supporting responsible environmental management, safe workplaces, strong governance practices, and engagement with customers, suppliers, and communities.

Looking Ahead

GMA remains focused on strengthening sustainability governance, improving data quality, clarifying ownership of material ESG topics, and increasing the use of sustainability information in decision-making.
