10 years of service with GMA

Susanne and Arvind achieved 10 years of service with GMA this year.  We thank them for their loyalty and dedication, and wish them many more years with the Group. 

Susanne Schröder

Mrs Susanne Schröder joined GMA Garnet Europe as Customer Service Representative, and immediately fitted right into the team.  She works in the sales department, and is responsible for sales and customer support in Europe.

Over the past 10 years, her consistently reliable and committed approach in client relations has enabled her to build a significant customer base, and she maintains close customer relationships with them.

During her free time, Susanne enjoys reading, cooking and traveling. Her grandchildren also keep her busy.

Arvind Thanki

In 2007, GMA Garnet Middle East was in search of a suitable candidate to operate the newly established garnet recycling plant in Jebel Ali.

Arvind Thanki, who has an Electrical Engineering degree applied for the position of Industrial Electrician. After reviewing his past experiences of working with well-known electrical contracting companies in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Arvind was offered the position of Plant Supervisor at GMA.

For the past 10 years, he has been managing the plant efficiently, and also supervised the building of a pre-treatment plant in 2012.

He is always thinking of ways to improve the plant’s performance and product quality. In 2013, he upgraded the bulk handling plant by installing an automatic 25kg packing unit and advanced screening system. This has doubled the plant's production capacity. Arvind was promoted to Plant Manager in 2015, and looks after the three GMA plants in Jebel Ali.

“Arvind knows our plants so well, he can detect the smallest failure – he practically talks to the machines! His dedication to his work has enabled the smooth operation of our plants all year round, and with minimal downtime,” said GMA Middle East General Manager Giresh Raghoowanshi.
