Waterjet Cutting Our Customers English EuropeSchröder Schneidtechnik: 25 Years of Waterjet Cutting Innovation with GMA Garnet™
25 years ago, Mr Raphael Schröder started Schröder Schneidtechnik GmbH, a waterjet cutting business in Gütersloh, Germany.
Over the years, the family-owned business has built a strong reputation for achieving project deadlines and being agile in meeting all types of cutting requirements from sheet metal such as aluminum and titanium to ceramic, tiles, marble and granite.
Since his very first cutting project, Raphael has been using GMA Garnet™ abrasives for all his cutting projects. More than two decades later, he still finds GMA Garnet™ to be the best abrasive in the market.
According to Raphael, he has tried and tested several garnet abrasive brands, but none matches the quality and performance of GMA Garnet™.
“When I use GMA Garnet™, I get consistent quality, no blockages and excellent cutting edge,” Raphael said.
“Moreover, the cutting speed is 30% faster, especially when I’m cutting thick materials. Therefore, it’s high value for money.”
The company has also invested in several advanced waterjet cutting machines - up to 10 cutting heads for all types of applications (material thickness between 0,05 mm up to 250 mm), such as micro cutting, 3D cutting, thick secure steel cutting and underwater cutting.

“Our machines are able to cut stainless steel, copper and steel pipes that are 2,5 m in diameter and 6m long under water. We can also cut a stack of 20 steel sheets (0,5mm thick),” Raphael said.

“We have built a friendly business relationship with Mr Schröder and his team over the years. We are pleased to have supported his business with quality garnet and services and we are thankful for his trust in GMA,” GMA Europe General Manager Andreas Hoefner said.
“It was fantastic to see the development of Schröder Schneidtechnik over the last 25 years. Today, the company is one of the leading waterjet workshops in Europe, known for good customer relationships, innovation, team knowledge, high performance, and reliability.”
