At GMA, operating responsibly starts with putting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people at the heart of how we work.
Central to our safety culture is a clear commitment: SAFETY Matters, Because YOU Matter.
The statement grew out of conversations with our teams about what safety means to them and the role we all play in looking out for one another.
“Safety Matters, Because You Matter puts people at the center of our approach to safety,” said Cameron Sargeant, General Manager People & Sustainability. “The choices we make every day have an impact on ourselves and those around us, and we all have a role to play in creating a safe workplace.”
When people know their safety and wellbeing are valued, they are more likely to feel supported to speak up, share ideas and look out for their colleagues. This helps build trust and a stronger sense of belonging across our teams.
Our teams are now bringing this commitment to life across GMA. Recently, leaders from GMA Americas came together to introduce the statement and discuss what it means for their teams and day-to-day operations.
Strong systems, processes and procedures remain essential, but safety is ultimately about people. By building a strong safety culture, we support responsible, reliable operations for our people, customers and communities.
