At GMA, progressing our ESG commitments means taking practical action where it matters most. Across the Middle East, our team continues to support environmental initiatives that connect directly to regional priorities such as ecosystem protection, water stewardship, and community engagement.
As part of this focus, GMA Middle East has been working alongside Goumbook through the 'Trees Matter' campaign, bringing people together to contribute to meaningful, hands-on sustainability efforts.
In January, 28 GMA volunteers took part in mangrove planting to help restore and strengthen the local coastal environment, at Jubail Mangrove Park, contributing to the UAE’s National Carbon Sequestration Project.
“Mangroves are nature’s frontline defenders — they capture carbon, stabilize coastlines, and support diverse marine and bird life. By taking part in planting initiatives, we’re helping to restore vital ecosystems while showing how small, hands-on actions can contribute to a healthier environment.”

Beyond the ecological benefits, the day also provided an opportunity for employees to connect with their community and see the direct impact of their efforts. Programs like Trees Matter help foster teamwork, encourage environmental awareness, and engage volunteers in sustainability actions that extend beyond the workplace.
Through initiatives like this, GMA demonstrates that corporate responsibility is more than policy — it’s about taking action, building partnerships, and supporting positive environmental outcomes across the region.
As 2026 progresses, GMA will continue to build on its local sustainability efforts across the Middle East, finding new ways to contribute to environmental restoration and community engagement.
