Business owner Greg Kowalczyk has been operating his waterjet cutting business for more than 10 years, and GMA Garnet™ is the only industrial abrasive he uses for all his projects.

“I’ve never tried any other garnet in my life,” Greg said.

“To be honest, I don’t intend to try other brands of garnet because I’ve got GMA Garnet™. The product is superior, clean and well packaged.” At his workshop in Bunbury, Western Australia, Greg uses GMA ClassicCut™ 80 for most of his cutting projects. He rarely experiences machine downtime especially, due to clogging.

“I often read about waterjet users complaining about clogging several times a day. I don’t have much knowledge of this issue as I have not experienced that with my machines,” Greg added.

His company — Belux Engineering, commenced in 2004 is well established in the South West region of Western Australia.

The company supports the mining, agriculture, automotive and energy industries in the region by supplying a wide range of quality machined components and fabrications. Belux is a full-service machine shop that specializes in CNC turning, CNC milling, waterjet cutting, welding and fabrications.

In 2011, Greg ventured into the waterjet cutting business by providing metal plate cutting services. Today, he produces hydraulic components such as manifold blocks, valves, fittings, flanges, including parts for transferring high pressure fluids. He also cuts specialized components for a manufacturer that supplies earth moving equipment to leading mining companies in Australia.

Greg uses GMA ClassicCut™ 80 and he rarely experiences machine downtime.

While running a seamless operation with minimal machine downtime is important to Greg, having good support from his equipment and garnet abrasive suppliers is crucial in maintaining an uninterrupted operation.

“For the past 10 years, Ellen Lambert (GMA’s Sales Administrator) in the Perth office has always provided me with superior service. She looks after everything and is always on top of my garnet requirements,” Greg said.
