GMA Garnet Group has officially inaugurated its new Bulk Handling Plant in Dubai, marking a significant milestone in the company’s long-term commitment to the Middle East.

The facility represents a strategic investment to enhance supply security, improve operational efficiency, and increase responsiveness for customers operating in some of the region’s most demanding industries.
Speaking at the inauguration, GMA Garnet Group CEO Stephan Kirsch welcomed guest of honor Mr Hamad Al Sayegh, Vice President, Customer Care of JAFZA, together with partners and the GMA Middle East team, acknowledging the collaboration behind the project.

“It is a great pleasure to welcome you here in Dubai for the inauguration of GMA Garnet Group’s new Bulk Handling Plant — an important milestone for our business and for our customers across the Middle East,” Stephan said. Dubai has served as a central hub for GMA’s Middle East operations for more than two decades. As a key center for industrial growth and regional connectivity, the UAE continues to provide a strong platform for serving customers across the Gulf and beyond. The new facility further reinforces that position.

“This investment strengthens our supply capability in the Middle East,” Stephan said. “It provides our customers with greater security of supply, improved efficiency, and faster responsiveness.”

The Bulk Handling Plant expands GMA’s regional storage and handling capacity, supporting improved inventory management, reduced lead times, and greater flexibility to meet project requirements. It enhances GMA’s ability to deliver consistent, high-quality garnet abrasives to sectors including oil and gas, marine, fabrication, and major infrastructure — industries where reliability and continuity of supply are critical.

GMA’s integrated operating model — from mining and processing through to distribution and technical support — underpins this capability, with the Dubai facility extending that strength within the region.

Soni John, General Manager Middle East, said the plant reinforces GMA’s commitment to local support and long-term partnerships.

“This investment enhances our ability to serve customers across the Middle East with greater speed and flexibility,” Soni said.

“Our customers operate in demanding environments where consistency and performance matter every day. Strengthening our bulk handling capability in Dubai allows us to better support their timelines and provide dependable access to high-quality garnet.”

While the inauguration marks the completion of a significant infrastructure project, it also signals the next phase of GMA’s growth and service capability in the Middle East.

“This facility provides a strong foundation for the next stage of service and capability in the Middle East,” Stephan said. “We look forward to continuing to invest in operational excellence and working alongside our partners and customers into the future.”

With the inauguration of the Bulk Handling Plant, GMA is strengthening its capability to support secure and consistent garnet supply across the Middle East, reinforcing its role as a trusted partner to industries that depend on reliability and technical expertise.
