GMA Maintains Continuous Garnet Supply to the Middle East

GMA continues to maintain a consistent supply of garnet across the Middle East, with stock arriving via the west coast of Saudi Arabia to support ongoing project demand across the region.

Recent disruptions across key shipping routes—including impacts to transit through the Strait of Hormuz—have affected logistics networks, influencing shipping routes, port access, and transit times. As a result, many projects are navigating delays and increased complexity in material supply.

In response, GMA has adapted its logistics approach to ensure continuity. By utilizing alternative supply pathways, including bulk shipments through the west coast of Saudi Arabia, GMA is maintaining reliable product availability where traditional routes have been constrained.

Soni John, General Manager for GMA Middle East & Garnet Arabia Company (GAC), said maintaining customer support and supply continuity across the region remains the priority.

Flynn Cowan, General Manager Sales & Marketing, said GMA’s focus extends beyond maintaining supply, with teams working closely alongside customers to help manage operational challenges as conditions evolve.

This approach reflects a broader shift in how supply is coordinated—aligning alternative logistics routes, technical support, and engineered solutions with customer requirements while maintaining consistency across active projects.

Alongside supply continuity, GMA continues to support customers through solution-based approaches and a range of engineered products suited to demanding operating conditions, including Engineered Arabian Steel, ToughBlast™, and Arabian Garnet grades.

Ajay Thanki, Regional Business Development Manager, GMA Middle East, said close collaboration with customers has become increasingly important in navigating current conditions.

“In times like these, it’s about working differently with our customers. We’re looking beyond standard supply—whether through technical guidance without compromising existing project specifications, or helping customers get more from materials already on site. It’s a collaborative effort to keep projects progressing,” he said.

Building on this approach, Arun Sathyan, Sales Manager, Garnet Arabia Company, said understanding immediate project requirements allows teams to adapt quickly and provide practical support where needed.

“By understanding our customers’ immediate requirements, we’re able to adapt our approach—introducing engineered blends and exploring practical options to ensure a consistent supply of garnet,” said Arun.

Soni added that clear communication remains critical as conditions continue to evolve across the region.

“Clear and timely communication is essential. We will continue to keep our customers informed so any changes can be understood and managed early.”

While conditions across the region remain complex, GMA’s focus remains clear: maintain supply continuity, ensure consistent quality, and support customers as projects progress.
