GMA mining operations in Australia and USA achieve 1,000 injury-free days
21 March 2022 marked a significant milestone for our mining operations in the Midwest of Western Australia.
Our mining teams have achieved 1,000 days without a recordable injury. A few weeks before this, our mining team in Alder, Montana, USA has also achieved one year without a recordable injury.
It’s a great achievement for both sites as the teams had to work around external challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Cyclone Seroja in Western Australia and extreme weather conditions in Montana.
“Our next challenge is to maintain this record while we continuously work on improving our health and safety measures to ensure that we provide a safe workplace for our people,” GMA CEO Grant Cox said.
“Congratulations to our mining teams in Australia and USA for the great teamwork in achieving this significant milestone and thank you for your commitment to safety. The journey doesn’t end here, and we continue to strive for Zero Harm.”
