Our People: Farewell Martin

GMA’s pioneer and longest serving employee - Martin Taylor retired from the company in December last year.

Martin has been an integral part of GMA’s journey from pioneer to market leader, shaping the garnet industry immeasurably.  He will be dearly missed by his colleagues in Australia and around the world.  Martin's farewell message to all:

I feel very fortunate to have been involved in a business that has evolved from an exploration prospect (early 1970's) into the dynamic and expanding company that the GMA Group is today.

In particular, the acquisition of the business by Garnet International Resources Limited and Torsten Ketelsen's enthusiasm and belief in the product significantly accelerated GMA's growth since the 1990s, growth that is being continued under the leadership of Stephen Gobby.

The job has always been interesting, challenging and rewarding for me.  GMA has been very successful in attracting and retaining good staff, many of whom are now long term employees.

Perhaps there really is something addictive about garnet!  I have no doubt that the company is in very good hands and will continue to flourish.

Although I will miss the day to day contact with Midwest personnel and the wider GMA community, I am looking forward to settling into my new lifestyle in Margaret River where surfing will be a high priority.
