He celebrated 30 years of service with the Group in March this year.

Wayne has always been a very popular and inspiring team player and ever willing to put his hand up for odd tasks ranging from being a social organiser of GMA events to special test-work programmes. His steady progression within the company from Plant Hand to his current position as Quality, Safety & Environment Manager is testament to his self-motivation, aptitude and dedication.

“On behalf of the Group, I thank and appreciate Wayne for his loyalty, and dedication to GMA for 30 years,” said Group CEO Stephen Gobby.

“One of his signification achievements is the ISO accredited systems of 9001, 14001 and AS 4801. Wayne initiated, developed and implemented these international standards for the Midwest operations. These standards formed the building blocks of the Group’s quality system."

“Congratulations to Wayne on achieving this significant milestone and we wish him many more fruitful years with GMA,” Mr Gobby added.

His quest to improve and make things better extends beyond his workplace. Wayne has a big heart for the community.

He has been part of the Midwest Branch of Variety WA for the past 16 years, raising much needed funds to assist local kids who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs. The largest bi-annual Variety event that Wayne participates in is the Midwest 4WD Getaway car rally through the Australian outback.

Together with his wife Sandra and friends Peta & Terry Mason, they form ‘The Hippies’ team. Every team will raise money for their car and the Hippies were the third highest fundraiser in 2014. To date, the Hippies raised over AUD$5,000 for the 2016 Getaway in July.

“I am proud to be a part of this charity and seeing how, with the assistance of our amazing sponsors and supporters, we can a make a difference to the lives of children in need,” Wayne said.
