According to Garnet Arabia Company General Manager Soni John, the new distributorship will certainly enhance Hempel’s Sales & Service by offering customers a complete package from pre-surface preparation to final coating application.
“With the strategic partnership, our garnet abrasive supply will be constantly and readily available in Kuwait, “ Soni added.
Since its inception more than 40 years ago, Hempel has led the supply of protective coatings for the decorative, protective and marine markets in Kuwait. The company’s innovative solutions and products protect many structures, from oil and gas installations to power plants and bridges, throughout the country. A new multi-million dollar paint factory is currently being constructed and is targeted to commence operations in 2017.
Kuwait has earmarked USD $115 billion spending on oil & gas projects over the next five years. The country aims to raise its current production capacity from 3 million to 4 million barrels per day by 2020, and maintain this production rate for at least another decade.
Three downstream ventures costing over USD $30 billion are currently being implemented; a new 615000 barrels per day grass root refinery, a clean fuel project to upgrade two of the three existing refineries and a platform for LNG imports.
