In keeping with the UAE’s Year of Community, GMA Middle East team members participated in a desert-cleaning activity this past weekend, along with members of the general community.
Nearly 50 people came together to collect litter, such as chip packets, ropes, cups, bottles, and food packaging. In the true spirit of community, volunteers came from different generations, parts of the world, and walks of life. The activity was organized by Goumbook, and is part of their Drop It campaign, in which they encourage people to refrain from using single use plastic.
General Manager, Soni John, said “We’re happy to be able to involve the rest of the community in this activity. Community Investment is one of the pillars of sustainability at GMA, so we’re always proud to contribute in whatever ways we can. We’re also grateful to have a chance to run an activity like this one in the Year of Community.”
