Written by GMA Garnet | 9/23/2024

Dubai’s Museum of the Future is a visionary hub, displaying the future ideas and technologies to visitors from around the globe. Standing at 77 meters/225 feet tall and occupying an overall area capacity of 30,548 m2, the façade of the museum is lighted by 14 thousand meters of programmable LED lighting.

Made up of quotes written by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Museum of the Future is the only building in the world that is entirely covered with Arabic calligraphy.

The Museum of the Future's facade is made from stainless steel and consists of over 1000 individual pieces manufactured by a specialized robot assisted process, covering a total surface area of 17,600 square meters.

“The exterior is made up of over 10,000 personalized pieces of glass joined within the 1,024 panels, and all the panels are unique in size and shape,” Manager for the Waterjet Division of GMA Middle East, Hemanshu Dawda, explained.

“By using the help of the waterjet cutting technology, it provided a greater liberty to cut and create glass shapes that could closely match the calligraphy. Using GMA Garnet ClassicCut™ 120 mesh to cut various glass shapes between 12- 16mm thickness provided the accuracy and efficiency needed for such a large scale, landmark project.”
